Can I download the emoji and manually add it to my channel? could this cause copyright issues?

If the emoji is already uploaded on BetterTTV, it will get flagged when it’s uploaded a second time.
Besides, when you upload an emoji to BetterTTV you must be the copyright owner, or have the permission from the copyright owner to do so.
If you want to add an emoji to your channel and it already has been uploaded to BetterTTV, then your only solution is to ask the current owner of the emoji to share it.
how do i contact the person who uploaded the emote on bttv? I’ve seen many channels download the bttv emote and upload it to their own channel
They have the same name on BetterTTV and Twitch, so look for their Twitch channel and contact them there.
Doubt it, the system scans emojis for duplicates when uploaded, it’s more likely the emotes are shared ones and therefore anyone can add them to their stream.
