After using nightbot for so long I wondered why was nightbot created? and whose amazing idea was it to make a bot that has become one of the most used bots in twitch and youtube (and discord i think)

Nightbot was originally “SFXBot” on Twitch and created for use by Kona, an early game streamer on JTV, as a way for users to request songs (later being extended with commands and moderation capabilities). When SFX360, the company he worked for, closed down it was renamed to “Konabot” for a very short period of time. Kona didn’t want the bot named after him, so he suggested “Nightbot” which is what it’s still named as today.
