So one of my chat members was saying swear words and getting the usual time out from night bot but one time they got timed out and were never able to talk after waiting the 30 seconds. It says on their screen the timer shown isnt visible.

Type /untimeout username in your chat and see if it solves the issue.
In regards to the timeout length, keep in mind that
Nightbot always issues a 5-second timeout for first offenses, and repeat offenses yield the length you [selected].
