So just recently it started doing this and it’s been fine for a while so I don’t really know what’s going on…
But I have a role for members that is assigned when they come in by dynobot. But for some reason nightbot is removing roles for members. It even removed the moderator role for one of my regular moderators that are in twitch active often. But for one of the members that it keeps happening I’m trying to figure out if they’re doing something or if it’s nightbot doing it because it’s happened twice… I unsynced permissions so nightbot doesn’t sync twitch to my discord anymore so I don’t know if that’ll fix the problem…
Dyno doesn’t even pick up that night bot did it though which I find. So I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or what’s going on because it’s been fine for months and now it’s suddenly is doing this…
Nightbot syncs active chatters (users that type in chat) in your Discord server every 15 minutes. Those active users will need to have their Twitch account linked to their Discord account for Nightbot to sync the role to them. Additionally, Nightbot’s role must have permission to manage roles and must be higher than the role you’re trying to sync. Assuming the setup is correct, Nightbot will sync regulars and moderators. Note: Nightbot does not sync subscribers, as Discord has a built-in integration for that.
Nightbot expects to maintain the moderator and regular roles that are configured for role sync. If you have moderators or other bots adding/removing users from the same roles, you can expect to see misbehavior like this.
If you don’t want Nightbot to manage these roles, then disable the role sync feature in the Nightbot integration settings.
So the only other bot that I have is Dyno. But the only permissions that it has is to auto assign a role right now because nightbot isn’t doing its job. Every person that it’s removing has their twitch linked to their discord. It randomly removed one of my mods who is a regular and is a moderator on my channel. My roles were synced per night bot settings. It just randomly started doing this and I’ve had the same bots I’ve had since I made my discord almost a year ago. So I’m not really sure what the issue is or why it’s suddenly doing it. When I haven’t changed anything.
Night bot is given the moderator role in my discord and on my twitch. So I’m not really sure what the issue is or what’s causing it but if it’s going to be this buggy randomly after it was fine for months and I haven’t changed anything on either bots… I guess I just won’t use it. Which is kind of a shame cuz I would love for it to work but if it’s buggy and you have suggestions for alternate options I’d be down for that.
Nightbot is determining that these users do not meet the criteria for the role, or it wouldn’t be removing it from them. Either you have misconfigured the bot, they are not a moderator/regular, or they have not connected their platform account to Discord. If Nightbot fails to retrieve the list of moderators or regulars, it does not perform any action. If it were broken and removing users who should have it I would know, as I use the integration in my own server.
Theyre a mod and their discord is linked as it worked before I’m not sure if it’s misconfigured because it’s worked fine for over a year… It ONLY started doing this, this month. Nothing has been changed recently other than adding new mods to twitch and discord. But she’s been a mod since I started. And had the mod role for almost a year. If it’s misconfigured how do I reconfigure it to work and not bug? It’s just randomly removing roles from people that their role was fine for months. Just to be clear it happened to a moderator and two of my regular chatters…
They have had the roles for months and it just started doing this… not sure why.
