Left-Side Chat also has following list on same side

Previously, when using left-side chat it would move the your list of followed streamers to the right side - keeping a nice balance between the 2. All of a sudden, a day or two ago, the followed streamer list is now on the same side of the left-side chat and it makes that side of the screen really cluttered.

I also noticed that the close (<-|) and open (|->) buttons are backwards for the followed streamers list in this scenario.

Not sure if this is intended, and/or something can be done about this?

It was broken for me too, seems like the problem was with the version of the extension.
Mine was on 7.4.33, but then I updated to the 7.4.35 version and now it works fine again.
