How can I set up NightBot to automatically greet people?

I want to have NightBot greet chatters automatically who have just joined and typed “hello” or “hi”. I know there’s a way to do this, but I’m unclear on how to go about it. I have read this " $(user) for the person on who ever said Hi" on another thread, but that was several years ago.

Any help is appreciated!

When you make a command you can do

!addcom Hello $(user) Hi welcome to the stream!
