i always clear queue and none of the default songs that are already there actually go away.

The default songs are meant to be played in the absence of song requests. If you don't want to hear them, you can go to your song request settings and change the playlist to "Channel", then the AutoDJ will instead fall back on songs from a personal playlist that you can curate.
