'Play Sound on Highlight/Whisper' setting not visible

Ever since Twitch’s big update - a year ago? - the option for ‘Play Sound on Highlight/Whisper’ has vanished. Will it be coming back?

I’m on Windows 10 Home 64-bit and use Chrome, but the ‘Play Sound’ option isn’t on Edge or Firefox either.

It was removed around the start of 2018 because Chrome no longer allows a tab to start playing audio if it is in the background.
