Nightbot won't allow moderators to change stream game or title

Recently, Nightbot has been denying moderators the ability to use their “powers” such as changing the stream title or the game being streamed. This is the what comes up in chat when they try:
nightbot was unable to authenticate with twitch’s api. the channel owner may need to login at https://nightbot.tv to fix this.

Tried signing out and back in again. What could be the cause of this?

After you sign out and in again, does it work immediately then stop working at a later time?
