If so, and followed it, I don't know what's happening.
If you followed it, then check to see if chat logs populate at https://nightbot.tv/logs when your stream is live. If so, then Nightbot is reading chat. On YouTube it can take up to 5 minutes after you go live for Nightbot to start reading chat, and it can take up to a minute to reply if your chat is not very active.
