When I tried signing in with the nightbot app via YouTube it said google couldn’t sign me in because this app is insecure.

Have you tried the latest app download via https://docs.nightbot.tv/app? If so, perhaps Google is preventing older versions of Chrome from logging in and we’ll need to ship an app update to fix this.
