Nightbot API - Can nightbot commands send data to a database

I'm wondering if a nightbot command can trigger the content of the message to be added to a database?

For example, I have a wildlife stream and when someone types: !namebird BlueJay, I want BlueJay to be added as entry in a database on my server.

Possible?
