I’ve tried looking at the other threads for debugging BetterTTV and nothing has fixed it so far. The BetterTTV icon remains greyed out when I go on Twitch(on other sites the icon for the extension will be colored in when active). I’ve tried restarting Chrome, reinstalling Chrome, reinstalling BetterTTV, disabling all extensions, still not working.
The BetterTTV is working fine. Chrome’s updates just list all of your extensions you use. You can right-click the icon ( 
) and “Hide in Chrome Menu”. You can tell extension is working by the overlay image on Twitch :
