BetterTTV not working?

I have betterttv loaded and everything, my twitch even recognizes its there and allows me to change betterttv settings. However, none of the settings apply, ex: Hide Offline Followed Channels — Removes offline followed channels in the sidebar - is check as ON but I can still see the offline channels after reloading the page. I also can't use any of the emotes that i have in my library. I CAN see others emotes from betterttv. any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
